Find your binge. Binge your find.

Rotten Tomatoes Goes Bananas

,

Good morning! Why not start the day with a list that is a binge, in and of itself. I’ve always liked the ol’ RT, and this list of 153! (?!?) shows is just purely based on their rankings. So scroll to where it starts to work for you and get lost for awhile.

Live Sports. Ish.

,

If you hungry for all things – or anything – close to live sports, here’s a quick guide to how and where to gobble down the NFL draft. The NFL has also created a Draft-a-thon fundraiser for Covid-19 relief efforts, so another way to help others. Coverage starts tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. EST.

Short Audio Angel Binge

,

Over the last few days, the song “Angel from Montgomery” just keeps popping up. On Willie’s stream. On the Earth Day Stream. Here, on All Songs Considered. It wants to be heard! Give yourself a short YouTube binge today, and feel how the late, and very great, John Prine will always resonate.

More Great Work Out There

,

This article by RaVal Davis provides a great roadmap to some of the most diverse, interesting, exciting and powerful titles out there. Please give this a read! Many new voices are out there, so give them a look and a listen.

Why Better Call Saul Really is Better

,

A great friend in LA – with always-great taste, btw! – has been bingeing BCS. That got me poking around a bit. This breakdown really is an eye-opener about prequels, in general, and sheds light on what makes this ride special.

72 Hours of Earth Day Live

,

It’s Earth Day, and here’s an around the world stream that has no intention of shying away from the issues over the next three days. Discussion, musical performances and voices of hope. But I think their FAQ say it best – Earth Day Live is three days of action packed content that will inspire, empower, educate. Grounding the three days in the need for community, hope, and togetherness during such a difficult time, the three days will still follow a similar theme as the original Earth Day Strikes.

A Great Story on Every Level

,

And, of course, NPR is here to tell it well. This one is looking like a breakthrough on so many fronts, so don’t let it slip off your radar.

25 Years of Disney on Broadway

,

This is so great from Broadway Cares – and another turn on from a friend in NYC! It starts with a touching 8-minute message before diving into the show, which is thrilling. But don’t skip the opening –it’s so important for us all to hear from each other right now – and consider donating, if you can.

Say Yes to Animal Attraction!

,

This is a super great find from a super great friend. (Big shout out to Beth in NYC!) Seriously, even if you just make a two minute binge out of this, it’ll be two minutes incredibly well spent. Try the Jellyfish…

Calling All Creatures!

,

After watching as many cooking shows as I could stomach with my daughter, I was looking for something new for us to watch together. This show on SyFy is a delight! Same structure… teams answer challenges from experts… but the goal here is to build creatures, not bake cakes. It’s no exactly new, but sure new to us. So far, so great.

Tough Review, Good Opportunity

,

It’s interesting when a show doesn’t get the best reviews, but it’s also a chance to sharpen your own critical viewing skills. I plan to give this a few hours to see if I agree or disagree, and why. And remember, some shows just take a few episodes to find their footing. Ya never knows…

It Just Keeps Getting Better

,

Some reviews tell you what, but this great CNN piece offers a compelling why you’ll want to dive into “Ozark.” It just keeps getting better. I’ve still chosen “Arrested Development” as my morning workout binge – I need my morning cup of comedy, people! – but season three of Ozark is living proof that a show can deepen and darken masterfully before your very eyes.
